*HOT* Thirsty Thursday

Thirsty Thursday Drink: Alkaline Ionized Water w/ Lemon
(from Whole Foods "spring.")

I heart water. The hubby often says that my love goes in this order:

1. Munchkin
2. Water
3. Husband

hahah...i will not confirm or deny that statement.

Either way...I enjoyed MANY glasses this afternoon.

Veeeeeery Refreshing on a day like THIS!

It's the hottest day yet. Bleh. Trained 3 clients bright and early this morning, home by 11am. Spent the day finishing up my office clean out. Replaced my vacuum's belt for the first time ever! It wasn't "sucking" up anything, and I thought maybe it was the belt....took ff the bottom, and yup, it was snapped in half. Now it's like new...and my floor is super clean :-)

Around 12:45 I took a break to make myself a nice lunch:

summer squash

sliced up thin with 1 clove minced garlic, some EVOO, lemon juice, sprinkle cayenne and turmeric, Himilayan Salt and Fresh Pepper

added some heirloom tomatoes & cucumbers

and 1/2 an avocado

 and some fresh basil:

LOVE having a basil plant:

Gott back to work..and got distracted again around 3--did 15 minutes of Vinyasa Flow.

Just finished up a little bit ago....got to head to the store to pick up din din...gonna be a game-time decision. Michael's asking for heavy Italian food...WHO KNOWS why he would want that in the HEAT! (He says it's cool in our house, so what's it matter)--Ugh, I need to take control of the situation and get something light and summery before he gets himself take-out. I need some inspiration tonight :|

Enjoy the pics from last nights tasty dinner..was craving seafood.....haven't had in a while:

 Chat about it:

What was the last major cleaning project you tackled?

Do you need to get yourself "mentally" psyched to go into cleaning mode?? I know it takes A LOT of "mental-preparation" for me ;-)

In honor of Thirsty Thursday:

What's your FAVORITE beverage??? ~green monster, smoothie, cocktail, alcoholic,  non-alcoholic...from any category!

Mine is clean,  frosty, ice cold water with lemon. I know...I'm a snooze...but really, it's my FAV!

Have a wonderful evening....going to dig into my new book some more tonight after din. SO far so good!!!!

xoxoxo

  1. Hope you're having a good Friday and your house cleaning wasn't too painful. Cleaning never ends, I try and get it out of the way and do it before I go to work so I come home to a clean home. My place is pretty much tidy all the time, don't have too much clutter.
My favourite drink would either be a glass of white wine with friends and I try and drink a lot of water.I do like to have a vodka on a night out.
How's the book going? I say it would be good, I'll check it out on Amazon and look at the reviews. I have a spare copy of Jackie Warner's book ( I ended up getting another copy from Amazon because the order took soo long to arrive so they sent me another copy. I could send you the spare copy if you like.
Have a great weekend. Your lunch looks yum, I'll try and re create it for lunch today.

  2. The books great so far! My house is usually tidy too..I'm a neat freak..just lots of clutter in areas, and MUCH needed clean out of my office & closet...my hubby thinks I'm nuts but I can't function when papers pile up!

Susan, can you email me when you get a chance...have a question about my comment form, it seems to keep changing overnight & deleting all my Intense debate comments--wanna see what happens when you're commenting in the morning.

  3. I am a huge water fanatic! I have water with me at all times. So that is my favorite drink for sure! It really was crazy hot today, I was miserable AND got a sun burn driving with my top down for 5 minutes!!

  4. I am definitely a water lover! But running a close second is kombucha. I only like the original flavor but I am definitely an addict! haha!

  7. If I am really really honest. My favorite drink is champagne. :-)

  8. I know it is kind of a bad habit, but I usually have to let my apartment get pretty unorganized before I'll feel the urge to clean it. Then it takes an entire afternoon to clean the whole thing, where if I just put on my big girl pants and did some sweeping and light vacuuming once a week it wouldn't be such a 'task'. But that would be much too easy, right?

As much as I love water, nothing beats a nice, frosty, (very) dark beer. YUM!

  9. Oh, and regarding the previous post:
Are the date that you were using very moist? I used to think that all dates were pretty firm until I found a little deli that sold them. They are unbelievably fresh, sweet, and VERY moist and gooey-so much so that I have to wash my hands after eating them.

Just thought that I would throw that out there. Happy Friday, Miss Laury!

  10. I find housecleaning to be therapeutic. I don't know why, but I do. Maybe because I don't do it nearly enough. And, hands down, my favorite beverage is tea. I have at least five cups/glasses a day. No sweetner. No milk. Just a bag or a ball of leaves and a little lemon for a little kick.

  11. I definitely love water with lemon. I try to drink as much as I possibly can! I bought a bag of lemons last week and all of them are already rotten so really I am not thrilled about that. Your lunch looks absolutely delicious! You seem like you'd be a fabulous trainer and nutrition adviser. I gave up on trainers in college when mine made me gain weight and I haven`t been able to get the weight off since. With my wedding in August I am getting depressed and maybe will look into a trainer.

  13. Ooooh that book looks interesting! My vaccuum definitely does not suck. It sucks that it does not suck. Maybe my belt is broken too?

  14. haha i chuckled this morning reading that 'list of loves' in order. no no, that doesnt need to be justified with a comment haha ;)

the funny thing about cleaning is that i usually never plan a cleaning episode. i can tolerate something and then out of nowhere i see something that needs to be cleaned and the moment i start to clean all hell breaks loose and im sucked into a 2 hour or more cleaning tangent. its weird, cleaning has a tornado effect for me in that once i start i just cant stop- which isnt necessarily a bad thing right, since im able to get everything done at once!

    xoxo <3

  15. Mmm that salad looks sooo tasty! I love having a basil plant as well.

I honestly like cleaning lol, but I'm not a clean freak. But I do have OCD tendencies when it comes to where the dishes go hahaha. The last major cleaning project I tackled? Hm.. maybe my bathroom? It wasn't a big deal though lol. But tomorrow I told my mom I'd organize their laundry room--so I guess that will be my next one!

Hm.. favorite beverage? Coconut water! Orrr chai tea or mango lassi lol. Can you tell I love Indian cuisine?

    XOXO

p.s. That would be awesome if you opened up your own place! I can totally imagine you doing that, and your specialty would be desserts ;) There's a private gym where I live and they've got a restaurant next door.

  16. Don't you love having a basil plant? I have one too for the first time and I love being able to just pick it and use it right away. I always plan major cleaning projects for the summer. This summer it is my closet. I just bought those skinny hangers to make more room and this week that is my project, also to give away clothes I don't wear anymore. I love your blog btw, I can't wait to read more!

  17. I also LOVE me some H20!!! My favorite non-water beverages are Green Monsters for breakfast and for alcohol its DEF a skinny margarita (clear tequila, splash triple sec, splash OJ, juice from 4-5 limes or fresh lime juice). MMMMMM :)
