Sloppy Slippers & Reality TV

Good Morning, All!!! I hope you're having a nice weekend so far! Thanks for all the comments on the Thirsty Thursday post! I love hearing all of your favorite beverages!! Also love knowing there are so many of you that LOVE water as much as me!

=)

Wanted to give a quickie update before I head to the gym and get my day going....

The hubby calls me "Mr. Rogers" because I change into my slippers the SECOND I get home. I'm weird like that. I can't walks around barefoot, or even just n socks. My feet are ALWAYS cold. Besides, I like the comfort and don't want to track all the dirt from outside onto my carpets, or on my  little Munchkin's play ground (aka, the whole house).

I think it was time to buy new slippers...

Can't believe I'm showing you guys this, disaster... eeeeeek!!! I swear I have washed them...they had nothing left to give. RIP fuzzy slippers :'(

Tough to find closed toed slippers in the summer...but lucked out with ones in my favorite color at Macy's:

Last night I got dissed for Roy Halladay :/

The Background:

Michael made reservations at Ryan Christopher's in Narberth, which is one of the only restaurants I can really say I love (in this area) because of the healthy choices they have on their menu.

Thursday night we got some pretty wicked thunder storms in our area. It wasn't actually that bad in Blue Bell, but there were lots of trees down and power outages out towards The Main Line, West Chester and I think some of the city. My sister & brother in law lost power, and my other sister in law that lives by the Art Museum had an air conditioning issue....and it was HOT! So, they all slept over my mother-in-laws (who lives about 5 minutes from us). We got lots of phone calls from my BRILLIANT nephew, who's about a year and a half old. If you say, "Zach, do you love Mommy" he smiles and says "I DOOoo." He knows the alphabet, all his numbers...and all of our family members names, who we are, he pretty much knows 7 understand everything going on around him and responds accordingly.

His favorite person ever is Lady Gaga...haha, "Gaga" was actually his first word. He LOVES dancing to her music...he's the CUTEST baby ever!!! I'm amazed at how smart he is, and how much more he knows every time I see him =)

Friday I worked all morning, and on my break from 11-12 I headed to my mother-in laws to see my nephew and the fam. He calls me "Lally" and his Uncle Michael "Buckle." He LOVES Michael, even before he was talking, the minute my hubby walked in the room he got a big smile, and reached his arms out to be held by him, SO CUTE! "Buckle" has baby fever, but "Lally" is telling him to chill out, we need a house with more than one bedroom before that happens ;-)

After my 12:15 client, I got a mini-pedi at my favorite place! Went with the same color as last time...HOT Pink:

Went to my pool for about 45 minutes to get some work done for a continuing ed course & let the tootsies fully dry.

Then did about an hour of Yoga X before I had to get into the shower for din:

Michael came knocking on the bathroom door the 3 minutes after I got in, and asked if I would be mad if he went to the Phillies game. His brother JUST had gotten tix from a neighbor, amazing seats, and Roy Halladay was pitching against his old team. Of course I said, GO...I just wish I could of went with him!! He, his brother and the baby went...SO cute! It was great game too! I got numerous texts with pics from Buckle...Z-man was so excited to go the game with his Daddy & Uncle "Buckle" and even more excited to see the Phillie Phanatic!

I was out of dinner plans...had to cancel the reservation, for the second time. "Buckle" canceled it earlier in the day b/c the power was out at his work, and he thought that The Main Line was going to be bad with roads closed and so on. My client lives in Narberth, so I asked him about the roads, he said they were fine..so I called back to set the res again. Only to have to cancel it, again :/

Since I was without a dinner date, I headed to guess where........none other than, Whole Paycheck to make myself a yummy din.

preview:

Sun Burgers. Stay tuned for recipe!

Got a BBM from my friend, Dana last night, who was in SHOCK...and I'm sure more excited than ever based on this pic:

Look at that ROCK!! ^Congrats to Dana & Ed!!!

In other news....haha.....

Reality star in the family?????

^remember this punim

My sister may be appearing in an episode of a reality show on MTV! The episode is a dating comedy based on her choosing between 2 suitors that "move-in" with my parents for the weekend, and apparently they must put them through "hell." ...the camera crew is going to my moms today to film footage, then down at her restaurant this afternoon to get some shots during the soccer game. We don't know if it's 100% a done deal yet...but should be pretty funny. Will give more details when it's solid. I want no parts of being on it...you never know how they are going to portray you on TV...eek! Besides, gotta get my workout in today, and don't really want to worry about getting all dolled up to maybe be on for 30 seconds. She's really excited...it's SO funny, because she's SUPER SHY...however, she's also brilliant--extremely creative, AMAZINGLY talented in music (picks up any instrument and can play anything), hilarious once you get to know her, and it seems like she's really embracing this opportunity! THEY contacted HER which is the funniest part! I guess keeping the company Sir Charles got her noticed ;-)

OK, I MUST make the bed & get to the GYM!!!

Random Tid Bit of the Day:

You know how the dentist always tells you to avoid sugar, because bacteria feeds on it...and then it causes cavities, bad breath and other dental problems?? I for one, am ADDICTED to gum. Always have been. As I mentioned in the last post, I am a water fanatic. Must have it on my at all times. However, I do not have a porta-potty at all times, so I chew gum.

I try not to be blatant about the gum chewing...but I do always need to have it. Water and Gum are two of major necessities in my life.

Usually the "claims" on any product are to be taken with a grain of salt. However, did you know why sugar-free gum with Xylitol is the recommended by dentists? It may be because of the fact that there's no sugar, BUT, I recently learned that the bacteria in your mouth will also feed on Sugar Alcohols...such as Xylitol (the sugar alcohol of choice), and when they do...the bacteria blows up and dies! Unlike when they feed on sugar, which fuels their purpose. Pretty interesting, huh?

Here's when Jillian Michael tweeted to me aboutSugar Alcohols, when I said to her that I thought they were bad (she was talking about them in general, not just Xylitol)
Jillian Michaels JillianMichaels
@lauryraiken Not toxic. Can upset tummy. They r all different when it comes to effect on blood sugar. Xylitol & erythritol best options.

Questions of the day:

Are you a gum chewer or breath mint addict? What's your favorite brand?

How would you feel about being on a reality television show? Would you embrace it, or want nothing to do with it?

I re-installed intense debate, so HOPEFULLY it doesn't delete my comments after I get 5 and go back to blogger comment form. Grrrrrrrrrrr @ blogger issues.

xoxo
